Product Review – Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Mango Shampoo (Sulfate Free)

IMG_1391

What is it?

So, I grabbed this because who doesn’t like Burt’s Bees?  It’s sulfate free and smelled good or so I thought!  According to Burt’s Bees website:

“Say “hello”to an oh-so natural shine with our Super Shiny Shampoo. Truly gentle, it rinses easily and helps reduce frustrating frizz. So your hair looks healthy and brilliantly beautiful. Fortified with Mango Seed Oil and Fig Extract, this nourishing formula leaves your hair feeling soft, shiny and super silky.”

This sounds great right?  Who doesn’t want shiny hair and no frizz AND it’s SLS free?  WOWZA!  Sounds great.

First Impression?

So, here I go grabbing it at Target. (link to the conditioner, can’t find the shampoo online).  It was about $6.59 + tax which wasn’t too expensive. I used it maybe 4 times thinking it would grow on me.  I go home all excited to use it and jump in the shower the next day.  Yeah, no.  It was awful smelling.  On the bottle it says that “fragrance” added is natural so one wouldn’t think it would be too bad.  But, man oh man – it smelled like cheap, fake, and nasty orange.  I thought it was supposed to be Mango!?  Not fake orange!  It was super runny too and hard to squeeze out of the bottle.    I’m pretty sure that each time I used it I squeezed out WAAYYYY too much shampoo yet wasted half of what I squeezed out into the shower floor.  Whoopsies.  $$ straight down the drain!

Bottom Line?

  • Awful Scent
  • Runny
  • Is my hair even clean?
  • No pump!  BOO!!!!

TOSS!!!!!

Guess I should have read some reviews online at Burt’sBees.com (rated 2.4/5) and on Target.com (at least about the conditioner rated 3/5!)
